Illinois can take pride in being the launching pad for the Professional Learning Community model. It’s here that Dr. Rick Dufour and his assessment team at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire developed this powerfully innovative approach to teaching skills, professional development, collaboration and improved academic performance of students. Their objective? To apply evidence-based strategies to know if students are learning, identify gaps, meet standards, and succeed academically.
