Support PLC Core Principles. Know if Your Students Are Learning…Now
Mastery Manager Supports and Strengthens the Work of Colorado’s PLCs
In the Colorado Department of Education’s online introduction to professional learning communities, they use this definition: “…an ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective learning inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve.” (DuFour, 2006).
In fact, Mastery Manager was designed and developed in conjunction with Rick Dufour, cited above, and his assessment team at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. The late Dr. DuFour is the driving force and innovator behind the PLC concept. Today, districts across the country, including Stevenson High School and many Colorado districts continue to trust Mastery Manager to answer the second of the four essential PLC guiding questions, How will we know they are learning?
PLCs are the foundation of Mastery Manager.
Mastery Manager is an essential tool in identifying students in need of targeted intervention, additional instructional support, or enrichment. Our longitudinal reporting system provides a data-anchored foundation for PLCs so educators can continually monitor the effectiveness of interventions for struggling students and adjust teaching strategies year after year.
